The gunman who opened fire on a congressional baseball team in Virginia kept a local storage locker with more than 200 rounds of ammunition that he visited daily, including less than an hour before he shot more than 60 times at the GOP team during a morning practice last week. Two hundred rounds! That number is pointed out like it's some extreme number that should shock us. 200 rounds. I often shoot that much during my lunch break. The idea that he visited his ammunition stock daily is interesting. I wonder if he was sitting there mumbling, "My precious."

At a casual pace, with timed shooting, 200 rounds might last an hour for my 1911. That, of course, includes reloading magazines along the way.ReplyDelete
Though I guess it's a good thing the guy didn't use those rounds to practice.
Picture if you will... a stack of postcards... (4 1/4" x 6 1/4") 2" thick!!! That's the size of 200 round box of Winchester 9mm, 115 grain, FMJ ammo!!!! And he has to store it in a "Storage shed???" REALLY!!!,Delete
