Back From Ireland

Did you miss me? Our family just returned from a 10 day pilgrimage in beautiful Ireland. I had a bunch of posts scheduled in advance that hopefully kept you entertained while I was gone.

We had an absolutely marvelous time. We took in the sights and enjoyed plenty of good food and drink! There was lots to learn about the history of the country, especially with regard to persecution of the Irish people and the Catholic Church, along with the current economic crises they are facing. While fascinating, these issues were strikingly poignant considering threats we face today within in our own country.

The landscape, the people, the food (and the drink) were all wonderful. I'll be writing more about our trip in the coming weeks.

  3. It’s very cool to ride on the wrong side of the road. I spent a little time in Ireland this year after the Isle of Man TT. Got up to the Giants Causeway & parts North this time. If you’re down south, I highly recommend this place - http://www.blackwatercastle.com. My wife & I stayed here back in ’08, it’s not expensive, you can walk to town but you are far enough away for peace and quiet, and they are motorcycle friendly. We had the place to ourselves, which was great for my wife who is in to ghosts, haunts & such.

Not too bad for beer as well. with a few new ones popping up. 2 Manx breweries you don’t see much of outside of the Island are Bushys & O’Kells. If you get the chance, the IoM is a pretty neat destination too.

  4. It was sure fun, but it's good to be home. I spent the first day going through photos and drafting some future posts. I also need to devise a plan to work off all those potatoes and good beer!
